It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. David I. (Dai) Gealy (O.Ll. 1949 – 57; College Master 1966 – 1997), who departed from us peacefully last night (Monday 9th September 2024).

A man of rare character and steadfast loyalty, Mr Gealy perfectly embodied the Llandoverian spirit. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the College, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him, whether as a fellow pupil, English Master, House Master, Coach, or Old Llandoverian. His sharp wit, vast knowledge, and warm heart earned him the revered title of the ‘Sage of Llandovery,’ a fitting tribute to a man who enriched our community in countless ways. His absence will be deeply felt. In this time of grief, we extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his family.
